Reseller fees compared
On a $25 clothing sale with the buyer paying $7.69 shipping, US sellers pay about $1.53 on Depop, $1.96 on TikTok Shop, $3.25 on Whatnot, $3.27 on Facebook Marketplace, $3.27 on Mercari, $3.56 on Etsy, $3.62 on Grailed, $4.85 on eBay and $5.00 on Poshmark. Why the same sale costs different amounts
- Mercari, eBay, TikTok Shop, Facebook Marketplace and Etsy take their percent of the shipping the buyer pays too, so a higher shipping charge raises the fee.
- Depop, Whatnot and Grailed take their selling fee on the item only, but payment processing on the whole order.
- Poshmark charges on the sale price only; the buyer pays the label.
- Flat and minimum fees weigh most on cheap items: see $8 and $15 below.

eBay keeps 13.6% of the whole order, shipping included, plus $0.30 (orders up to $10) or $0.40 (over $10). Most clothing; handbags are 15%.

8% of the item price for Fashion at the starting tier (under $15,000 in sales per 4 weeks; the rate drops as your sales grow, since Sep 21, 2026), plus 2.9% + $0.30 processing on the whole order, shipping and tax included.

TikTok Shop
TikTok's own US rate card says 6% for clothing, on the price plus shipping, processing included. Some blogs report 8% since Aug 4, 2026; TikTok hasn't confirmed it.

Facebook Marketplace
For shipped orders Facebook keeps 10% of the whole order, at least $0.80. Local pickup paid in person is free.

Etsy
Etsy keeps 6.5% of the price and shipping, plus 3% + $0.25 payment processing on the whole order and the $0.20 listing fee (a listing renews after each sale). Offsite Ads (12–15%) only apply to sales that came from an ad and aren't included.

Grailed
Grailed keeps 6% (at least $1.99) on sales under $120 and 9% from $120 (since May 20, 2026), plus 3.49% + $0.49 payment processing on the whole order. The buyer pays the Grailed shipping label.

- Are Poshmark fees higher than eBay's?
- It depends on the price. On a $25 item Poshmark keeps $5.00 and eBay about $4.85. On a $12 item Poshmark keeps $2.95 and eBay about $3.08. eBay's percent also applies to the shipping the buyer pays; Poshmark's doesn't.
- Are Whatnot fees lower than eBay's?
- On a $25 sale, Whatnot keeps about $3.25 (8% of the item plus processing on the order) and eBay about $4.85.
- Is Facebook Marketplace cheaper than eBay?
- For shipped orders, Facebook keeps 10% of the whole order (at least $0.80): about $3.27 on a $25 sale, against about $4.85 on eBay.
- Which site charges the lowest fees for clothes?
- By fees alone on a $25 sale: Vinted ($0.00), Depop ($1.53), TikTok Shop ($1.96). Fees aren't the whole story: where your buyers are and how fast things sell matter as much, so compare your own item.
